The Haruhana Family History
Chapter 1
In the late Edo era, lived an aristocrat family called the Haru family. This family is incredulously rich and had a big influence over the economical world of Japan.
One day, the only son of this family, who was currently 18 at that moment, Haru Hiroki, fell in love with an oiran at Shimabara, Kyoto when he was sent there to do a business negotiation. He then decided to bring the girl, Hana Ume, to his house and marry her straightaway.
They were expecting a warm welcome by Hiroki's parents and a lavish wedding. But of course, this thoughts they shared together were crushed when his parent and his whole family declined. Hiroki's father didn't want his son to marry Ume. He didn't like her although he hadn't known her yet. His only reason was Ume's job, which was a prostitute. His wife and him didn't want their most beloved son to marry a dirty and unholy woman like Ume. They thought of her like trash and they didn't want all their fortune that Hiroki's father and his ancestors worked hard for to fall on the hands of a prostitute. They thought that she only agreed on marrying Hiroki because of his money and nothing else.
And they also said all this in front of Ume! These shattered Ume's heart to million of pieces as she aimed for the door with a tearful face. Not caring about the cold weather anymore, she ran away from the room, from the house, from Hiroki's parents disrespectful and disgusted glares and from Hiroki's heart.
She knew she didn't belong there, she knew his parent wouldn't accept her. How foolish of her to actually thought that maybe, MAYBE they would like her, would welcome her to the family. It's not like she wanted to be a prostitute anyway, she HAD to be, her parents SOLD her. That's the only way she could keep on living.
Sadness and depression embraced her like the thick blanket of snow in front of her eyes. She didn't care of she froze to death. She just didn't care anymore, for her heart had already died along with her soul.
Running away wasn't the hard part. No, it's not, the hard part was that her love didn't ran after her and told her to stay.
Tear rolled down to her pale cheeks, her heart ached as she thought about what his parents said about her. Her narrow shoulder heaved up and down as she sobbed in sorrow. The she felt a pair of strong arms embraced her, calming her down, warming her up. She turned around and saw her love. He told her not to worry about his parents and that he loved her so.
The other day they woke up early in the morning, or dawn should I say, and hurried to Hiroki's house. They took everything wit them, including the 1 yen Hiroki hid under his bed and took off to Kyoto.
They changed their name into Haruhana, had a lavish wedding that they had dream off and built a humongous house in Kyoto. After a few sunrises and sunsets, they heard a rumor saying that the Haru Juubei and Haru Ruri had died from a sudden heart attack and that the last thing they said was "NUUUUUU!!!!!!!OUR MONEY!!!!!"
And they even screamed it in unison! Oh, what a couple they made!
